Beit Akbik had been meticulously restored with the help of architectural experts from Maktab Anbar, a nearby and key historical institution in the of Old Damascus area that tourists flock to. It took 3 long years to get Beit Akbik to back to its previous glamor. This house that Beit Akbik is today was sold to a Christian family when the Damascene Jewish population moved to Israel, upon Jewish occupation of Palestine.
