Place of event: Everywhere in Syria
At this event, souqs (traditional markets) are usually crowded as the whole country celebrates this event. Children take school off, and portable playground and amusement park equipment are placed in city streets, even fair-wheels are installed in normal streets for children to play in. Basically the whole city district becomes an amusement park! Restaurants are thriving and many folklore events take place in city streets. In the first few days, everyone (especially public sector employees) take the holiday off and visit family and friends. Even Syrians living in Europe and the USA flock back to Syria for this wonderful event.
